Just to be clear here, we are not talking about just any Alpina B12 here, but a very rare one at that, too.
This particular Alpina B12 Coupe is one of only two ever made that sport right hand steering wheel and a 6 speed manual transmission.
To understand why this is such a big deal, you have to know a bit about the BMW 8 Series, the car this is based on. Ever since it was launched, the 8 Series was an instant success to fans of the brand and cars in general. This was back in 1989. Today, seeing a BMW 8 Series on the streets is a rare thing, and seeing the Alpina B12 version of it even more so.
So where exactly does this come from? As is the case with many cars as rare as this, it came out of a private collector’s garage. In this case, it was the Sultan of Brunei, a world known car collector. The only thing surprising about the whole deal is the asking price for it: £80.000. This is quite a low price, considering the Alpina B12 Coupe was kept in a garage and barely run.
