F01 Alpina B7 driven by MotorTrend

Though I’m kind of disappointed not to have had a go in one of these amazing F01 Alpina B7 tuned 7 Series, it is interesting to see in a video.

MotorTrend’s Carlos Lago took to the track and road behind the wheel of the big sedan to find out what’s what. The result is mixed.

As you’ll get to find out by watching the clip, he liked the car but it’s not really a flat out victory, more of a managed success.

F01 BMW 7 Series gets Vossen Wheels

Lovely. That’s how I describe the idea of getting some tuning done to the F01 BMW 7 Series. The limousine is usually bought by people who don’t appreciate such things.

On some of the occasions, more than I’d like to admit actually, the tuning we get to see for the most luxurious BMW goes wrong.

Fortunately, this isn’t the case. This has been done right and it sort of had to be so since it was done by one of our favorite wheel makers.

Alpina B7 launched at Laguna Seca

There’s a set of lucky folk at bimmerpost as they got to attend the launch of the Alpina B7 in what some would call inappropriate scenery.

The German tuner introduced their version of the luxury land barge that never really feels like such a thing at a track day.

Not only that, they’ve done so at a track that’s infamous for some serious G force pushing thanks to the incredible Corkscrew corner.

2013 Alpina B7 pricing announced

The Bavarians took a bit of time over unveiling the new price range for the facelifted 2013 BMW 7 Series so Alpina did the same.

It is only now that they’ve made the 2013 Alpina B7′s model pricing available. The model is available in four trims with rear or all wheel drive.

All versions of the car are based on the BMW 750i and come with the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that’s the base for most M powered cars these days.

Vorsteiner BMW 7 Series aerodynamic package

Vorsteiner seems to be obsessed with aerodynamics. They just won’t let it go and they seem to get obsessive when a car isn’t up to their standards.

For example, the BMW 7 Series, for all its plus points, being small and cutting the air cleanly isn’t exactly in its spec sheet.

It doesn’t seem to matter. Vorsteiner have a kit for it and now that they’ve updated their package for it.

Alpina B7 gets updated by Tunerworks

Inception fans may make a joke out of this but it seems like the BMW 7 Series is getting some Inception-like tuning these days.

After specialist German tuner Alpina took the 7 Series and turned into their B7 model, some people considered it not to be enough.

These would be the people at Tunerworks who felt a touch-up was just enough to update the Alpina B7 to something a whole lot less “common”.

Alpina brings B7 Bi-Turbo in line with new 7 Series facelift

Just recently, the Bavarians at BMW updated the BMW 7 Series with a facelift that touches on a few details of the F01 generation of the luxury sedan.

In the wake of that momentous launch, more and more news came in from BMW regarding the serious chances of having an M7 in production.

The news didn’t really follow through and while there’s still some speculation as to how and what’s happening to the potential BMW M7, specialist tuner Alpine went on with their normal business.

Armortech BMW 760 XLi High Security launched

When thinking of customization, we almost always think of the faster, lighter, more aggressive or better trimmed cars tuners can make.

That’s great and covers a wide array of customers. It does however single out the people that are interested in stuff like we’ve got here.

Mansory’s BMW 7 Series is not easy to forget

Mansory’s tuning kits aren’t really the most discrete or difficult to cross by without giving it a slightly shocked look.

However not even they could have had a BMW 7 Series on their hands and mistreated it in their usual fashion.

Words like subtle and discrete may be a little to ambitious, but it’s not so bad that you couldn’t use words like “not hideous”.

G-Power turns BMW 760i into a Storm

Everybody knows the current version of the BMW 7 Series is on its last legs. The facelift is under way and more and more people are focused on it.

Meanwhile, the power obsessed Germans at G-Power tuning are still telling us about how great their Storm conversion for the 760i is.

Whereas most tuners would keep things dignified and the visual mods to a minimum, G-Power simply did what they felt was needed.
