So what if Hartge just unveiled a video where they showoff what the F30 BMW 328i can do once they’ve tweaked its programming?
Another German tuner, one called Alpina, isn’t very impressed. They’ve also released a video, but this one is rather more striking.
It’s the Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo version of the F12/F13 BMW 6 Series and it’s not mucking about, it’s headed for a top speed run.
According to the company’s original claims, the seriously modified version of the 650i now gets a upgraded 4.4 liter V8 engine with twin turbochargers.
That powerplant develops 540 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, much closer to what the M6 has to offer than the standard car’s 407 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
I suppose that when they said they pumped a lot more go in the package they weren’t lying. The Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo really does what it says on the tin.
Getting to a top speed of 334 km/h (~208 mph) and not taking too long to get there is very impressive. It all gets better when you consider that a de-restricted M6 can manage.
Apart from the serious side, it’s also nice to see one of these no-nonsense videos as they are much more refreshing than the publicity media stuff.
Right now the only thing left to do is to actually plan and execute the bank robbery that will secure us the money we need to get one of these cars.
After that you can pretty much admit to robbing the bank, it’s not like they will be able to catch you is it?
