Of the current vehicle range that BMW offers, most would do quite well after a dragster conversion.
This is a valid point for most of the older models as well, with only a few Bimmers not really dragster material.
Talking about BMW’s Isetta, it is clear in which category this car would fall. Still, it seems that somebody took it upon themselves to prove me wrong, and turned one into a mean machine. When all the modification was done, not much of the 1959 BMW Isetta still remained, and a lot needed to go in.
The flimsy 247cc engine was replaced by a powerful V8 engine capable of churning out some 730 Hp. From an M3 a suspension system was looted and the mandatory roll cage was installed. After finishing touches, like the Hot Wheels sticker which bodes so well, the BMW Isetta is now drag race worthy. Now dubbed “Whatta Drag”, this fun build of an ancient model will be put up for auction.
