Over the last few months we have witnessed several BMW pickup conversions, with even respectable tuners considering building such contraptions.

But while a pickup BMW is becoming something possible, pioneers come up with other, more controversial builds for their Bimmers.

One such vehicles recently became available for purchase on Copart.com. This conversion uses an E21 BMW 3 Series as a base and from there, a tow truck was born. The rear half of the vehicle has everything a tow truck needs, and what is even more spectacular, it all works.

With the drive still on the rear wheels, this build actually makes sense, sort of. One thing is sure: if you ever are in need of a tow, having the option of calling an E21 BMW 3 Series to your aid is something you just can’t get anywhere. I wonder how long until some serious company will think a BMW tow truck makes sense and decides to build one.
