Usually, when i hear about a Manhart tune, I fully expect explosions in the background and many more horses, or at least some wicked body kit.

So imagine my disappointment when I saw the BMW i8 the aftermarket specialist brought to the Essen Motor Show.

While the other BMW models have seen some serious kits, the BMW i8 seems to severely lack such a kit. At first look, the one Manhart brought to Essen 2014 held a lot of promise, then you get into it and realize not much has been done to it. Neither from a performance point of view nor aesthetic wise.

Manhart did a great job with the painjob, taking a grey base and applying some yellow accents. These work wonders with the already awesome design of the BMW i8. For a more complete look, they also lowered the stance by 30 mm and added some Manhart wheels. That is pretty much it. The interesting fact about this project is the promise that comes with it: it seems that Manhart plans to mess around with the powerhouse, and this would make them the first tuners to try it.
