<p>If you were at one point such a person, you might have had the curiosity to find out why.</p>

<p>The reason behind the naming is the simple fact that some decades ago, BMW built a car branded M1. With that car, the German manufacturer managed to demonstrate their engineering capabilities. To this day, the M1 remains the single super car ever to be produced by BMW and still a very sought after model.<br />
<span id="more-5031"></span><br />
<figure id="attachment_5033" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-5033" style="width: 520px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.bmwcartuning.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/1980-BMW-M1-2.jpg" rel="lightbox-1"><img decoding="async" src="http://www.bmwcartuning.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/1980-BMW-M1-2.jpg" alt="1980 BMW M1" width="520" height="345" class="size-full wp-image-5033" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-5033" class="wp-caption-text">1980 BMW M1</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>This particular BMW M1 was built in 1980, and even from the styling you can guess which other car maker contributed to the process (Lamborghini). It sports the Procar colors and body panels and currently resides under the ownership of GlobalAutoSports. The good news is that for a measly $250.000, this 1980 BMW M1 can be yours. So cough up a quarter mil, go to San Diego and grab it while it&#8217;s still on the market.</p>
