They did this by a (not so) simple engine tuning, and then showcased it in a video.

Naturally, after this monster X3 was done, we all wondered which model would be next to benefit from the engine tune. And our answer came in the form of the BMW X1, the xDrive20i version.

Just like the X3, the X1 was tuned by the guys at Hartge for the sole purpose of power gains. And again, the result didn’t fail to impress. The original model sports the N20 engine, a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder unit capable of churning out some 184 Hp and 270 Nm of torque.

Enter Hartge and their engine tune, and now the xDrive20i is able to produce 220 Hp and 325 Nm of torque, making for a 36 Hp/ 55 Nm increase. As the X3, this power is best displayed at higher speed, as the acceleration from 80 km/h to 200 km/h has dropped down 13.62 seconds, to 27.24 seconds. So what kind of message does delta4x4 send with their new offer? I can’t speak for you, but when I look at the wheels and tires fitted to the BMW X1, I get mixed feelings.
