Last time we heard from Hartge they were busy meddling with the X3 xDrive30d, and after they were done with that, power output was seriously altered. They did this by a (not so) simple engine tuning, and then showcased it in a video. Naturally, after this monster X3 was done, we all wondered which model would be next to benefit from the engine tune. And our answer came in the form of the BMW X1, the xDrive20i version.
Naturally, after this monster X3 was done, we all wondered which model would be next to benefit from the engine tune. And our answer came in the form of the BMW X1, the xDrive20i version.

Just like the X3, the X1 was tuned by the guys at Hartge for the sole purpose of power gains. And again, the result didn’t fail to impress. The original model sports the N20 engine, a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder unit capable of churning out some 184 Hp and 270 Nm of torque.

Enter Hartge and their engine tune, and now the xDrive20i is able to produce 220 Hp and 325 Nm of torque, making for a 36 Hp/ 55 Nm increase. As the X3, this power is best displayed at higher speed, as the acceleration from 80 km/h to 200 km/h has dropped down 13.62 seconds, to 27.24 seconds. The build is again displayed in a video just below.

Whenever you modify a car, when you do the aesthetics, you must never forget about the aspect of the wheels. A new set of rims and tires can make or break the overall image of the car. This is especially true for the SUVs and off-roaders, where big bulky wheels not only help tackle the terrain but also send a message. So what kind of message does delta4x4 send with their new offer? I can’t speak for you, but when I look at the wheels and tires fitted to the BMW X1, I get mixed feelings. On one hand, it

This is especially true for the SUVs and off-roaders, where big bulky wheels not only help tackle the terrain but also send a message.

Delta4x4 wheels for BMW X1

So what kind of message does delta4x4 send with their new offer? I can’t speak for you, but when I look at the wheels and tires fitted to the BMW X1, I get mixed feelings. On one hand, it seems to fit in well with the small German SUV, but on the other hand, the wheels scream “old” while the rest of the cars has a nice “new” vibe to it.

Delta4x4 wheels for BMW X1

The kit from delta4x4 will cost 3.790 EUR and for that money you will get the forged Master Piece rims draped in Michelin 265/45R18 tires. But before you install them, you might also want to raise the BMW X1 a bit, and you can do that with a lift kit that will set you back 498 EUR.
