Still, the owner of the next E82 BMW 1M knows how to put the vehicle to good use, taking to the rough roads of rallying.

After BMW’s M division got done with the 1M, it was a performance beast worthy to take on several rally stages with the simple addition of safety features. But for the true experience, the owner of this particular one decided to take it to the next level.

Besides the mandatory rollcage, the Bimmer saw new cylinders from the E45 engine, a new 6 speed sequential transmission, new brake discs 360 mm wide, 6 piston calipers for the front and 330 mm rotors for the rear. The engine was also upgraded with a KMS ECU, while shock absorbers were provided by Proflex. The custom wheels come from Speedline and were draped in Kumho tires.
