The model used for this particular launch is a 640i. As usual with this company, the performance aspect is not the most important in the mix.

What is important is that on this occasion, aside from introducing a variety of photos with the alloys they’re preparing for the 640i, there’s also a video.

There’s a nice city backdrop, with varying weather, for the still shots and then there’s a bit of highway driving footage mixed in as well.

A set of 22 inch rollers can usually be considered as a total inconvenience when moving but the ones in this scene are portrayed as if they’re almost usable.

Stunning, it’s probably the simplest way to describe their VVS-CV3 Matte Black machined 22 inch alloys. I’m fairly confident the car’s stance also helps.

Not only does the 6 Series Gran Coupe have a well thought out presence on the road, in this case a custom H&R suspension kit was employed to make the best of the situation visible.

I’m also not sure about the way the tinted windows on this car. Perhaps there’s some foil action or maybe there’s some effects work.

After all, I know the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe doesn’t have the biggest greenhouse around but it seems like it gets a little too dark for normal lighting conditions.

This was actually tipped off by the headlamps which don’t seem to light up properly.

They really care about presentation and they want to showoff not only what they’re making, but what car their products are actually going on.

We’ve seen them unveil quite a few of their products alongside the lovely BMW models we’re fans of and they’ve all struck a cord.

It may be because this time, the car used is one of the best looking models in BMW’s history and certainly the best four door they currently make.

What I’m talking about is the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. It’s a model that swaps out the standard rollers for brand new 22 inch CV3 concave rims.

Vossen haven’t exactly reinvented the wheel here but they did addapt them to the 6 Series Gran Coupe. Precise dimensions of 22×9 for the front and 22×10.5 inches for the rear speak bundles.

The five spoke design looks as sporty as it ever did and the black trimming around it does nothing but accentuate the same appearance.

The inner freak show inside me does worry. It’s mostly because in the same way that you can’t see the black trim, you can’t really see the tires.

I’m assured they’re there and the idea of floating wheels doesn’t quite stack up, but what’s there doesn’t appear to be tires.

It all just seems like plastic tires you can get on toy cars. You know the kind, the sort which really crashes about even on a grain of dust.

From what we’ve getting so far from the 2012 edition, none of the BMW models that have been prepped for the event are in the second category.

We’ve already seen the amazing F10 BMW M5 project from the guys at IND getting ready for the show and now we get to hear from a huge name in tuning.

Feast your eyes on the black diamond of the DUB Garage booth outside the Las Vegas show that seems to be dominating the talk of the automotive industry.

They had quite the setup to consider but bit we’re interested in is a E63 BMW 650i Coupe. This is a considerably straight forward setup.

Get a black painted car that’s already impressive looking, murder it out with smoked lights and tinted windows and then fit an ostentatious set of wheels.

I’d love to estimate the size of the new alloys (as it wasn’t officially included in the release) but I sit and ponder, what on Earth is the point.

They seem to have absolutely no take in the way the tires fit around them. We’ve seen rubber bands on pickle jars that took less of a strain.

It’ll probably be completely useless in terms of usage in the real world but who’d use them out there? A car like this is used for shows and maybe one short cruise on a completely flat boulevard.

Not that I don’t care about it, but I’m starting to care less and less about this concept and would prefer to focus on things like the looks.

The finished product if you will. Aftermarket is still a very wide category of products and you don’t have to see the collaboration of big names to get something enjoyable.

Sometimes you can see things as simple as a set of wheels properly selected and fitted to an F12 BMW 6 Series, preferably one that’s painted white.

I mean it, he seems to be just about right on all fronts and it was done without having several thousand horsepower, without any body kits and weird paint.

It really does seem like the owner actually appreciates the F12 6 Series, he does want to stand out, but he’s not ready to be introduced to people with “yo’ dawg”.

He opted for a set of Vossen Wheels alloys. Particularly it’s the 22 inch VVS-CV1 monoblock wheels. These are sized at 22×9 inches for the front and 22×10.5 inches for the rear.

That’s quite the difference in width but it also is just about the same proportions one would find in the standard setup.

In all cases, the rear wheels need to provide the grip under acceleration whereas those at the front need to be capable of quick and effortless turning.
