The first thing you notice when looking at the BMW M550d xDrive’s exterior is the glossy black paint that seems to blend well with the minor exterior modifications done by G-Power. The sheer aggressiveness is surprising, given the fact that the car was already aggressive enough in its stock form. The unmistakable kidney grills have the classic, yet stylish, metallic finish. The G-Power badges and the amazing set of black rims wrap up the exterior package and complete the car’s new look in an extravagant yet cohesive way.

The BMW M550d xDrive by G-Power is a monster waiting to be unleashed. With the car already outputting sheer performance in its stock form it seemed rather impossible for any third party aftermarket tuner to further improve what was under the M550d’s hood. G-Power somehow managed to prove everybody wrong by tuning the 3 liter, six cylinder diesel from 400PS to a staggering 460PS. Every bit of performance the engine had was squeezed and taken to the next level.

The interior has not been modified at all. In the end it seems plausible, as G-Power seems to have concentrated more on the performance aspect of the BMW M550d xDrive. The price for this tuning package offered by G-Power is priced at a breathtaking 2,318 Euros which is the equivalent of 2,700 dollars. G-Power has explained that the whole process of beefing up the engine lies in the adjustment of the ECU unit within the BMW M550d xDrive.

We have seen lots of BMW models, such as the X5 M or X6 M, along with the M2 Coupe or M3/M4, receiving impressive power kits. The tuner`s latest project involves the above BMW M550d in its former generation, this one also getting its fare share of power under the hood.

In the visual department, the mods aren`t that many, the top of the line version from the 5-Series receiving some slight updates at the front and rear bumpers, along with the new 20- and 21-inch front and rear HURRICANE RR alloy wheels, available in three colours, ”Jet Black”, ”Gun Metal Grey” and ”Stardust Silver”.

As for the upgrades under the hood, the BMW M550d got the tuner`s D-Tronik 5 V1 power module, meaning modified turbochargers and ECU remapping, all significantly raising the car`s stock power.

As the tuner says, the power module is not always active, and that to protect the engine. The ECU remapping activates the car`s new throttle using a special program that the driver activates only in certain situations.

The stock model comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with a good 381 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque, but with the new power module, the M550d is now capable of delivering 435 horsepower and impressive 850 Nm of torque. The sprint figure is not given at the moment, but we should expect fresh details in the upcoming period.

We are talking here about some upgrades carried out under the hood, which makes this M550d a really fast diesel, thanks to the 2,290 euro power kit. The model is thus capable of outputting 450 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, quite impressive than the stock 381 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.

Apart the power boost, VOS tuner have also installed some cool features on the model, each one coming with its own price. For instance, the AEZ wheels cost 2,490 euros, while the complete package consisting of high-performance brakes with the Brembo discs and four-piston calipers, is available at 2,695 euros.

Your BMW M550d can also be had with a choice of new lowering springs courtesy to H&R Performance tuner, for another 499 euros. Now you have a complete BMW M550d diesel, which will definitely be a real competitor for any petrol burners out there.
