In case you don’t know, Technica Motorsports is an independent yet dedicated BMW repair shop located in Atlanta, which deals with BMW modifications, like any other aftermarket shop out there. The guys over the shop are famous for their upgrade programs under the hood.

The shop`s latest program is the fitting of the below E46 BMW M3 with an S65 V8 engine taken from the fresher E92 model, which means plenty of power from the start.

The whole fitting process cost around $50,000, with the owner having to find an engine as well. Even if we consider that to be extremely expensive, the guys over the shop assure you that it is worth the trouble.

With the new S65 V8 engine, the E46 BMW M3 is capable of churning out more than 414 horsepower, being sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, which was taken from the same E92 BMW M3.

As for the rest of the 4.0-liter V8 engine, all the parts remain stock, with no other modifications to be announced so far. However, if you also want some extra mechanical parts which might increase the car`s performance, you would also have to provide them for additional costs.

Unfortunately, the fostla.de tuner did nothing to improve its technical specifications. However, they changed its looks. First, they took a body kit made by Carbonfiber Dynamics, to add a little drama. It contains a sharp front lip, some air diffusers to cool the engine bay, wider side skirts and a rear wing, to keep the car bond to the asphalt.

Then, they wrapped al the package in a shiny, chromed foil. I wonder what color is specified in the car registration… However, it’s not all-shiny. It has matte-black side stripes and a whole black engine hood.

All the transparent surfaces are tinted: the windows, the front and the rear lights. This adds an even scarier image to the supercar. On the radiator grille – the M scheme brings a drop of color in the black-and-chrome ocean.

As we said from the beginning – the technical side of the car remained absolutely unchanged. Therefore, you might think all these changes are pretty cheap. No, they’re not: the whole package costs about €14.000, or $15.700. And you’ll still have 420 hp from the natural aspirated V8, and not a pony more.

The look-pack won’t help you either with the 4.4 seconds acceleration to 100 km/h, but it can give you that extra style that makes the difference.

And this E92 BMW M3 is also impressive with some slight changes at the body, such as the new GTRS7 front bumper, the GTS-V rear diffuser as well as the coup boot lid, all signed by Vorsteiner tuning.

But the Vorsteiner tuner is particularly famous for their high-performance customized wheels and this M3 has also benefit such a goody. Thus, the aftermarket specialists have fitted it with the Carbon Graphite V-FF 103 wheels, coming in sizes of 19×9.5 and 19×10.5 front and rear. The overall design is breath-taking.

Under the hood, the E92 BMW M3 is still packing the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight six-cylinder unit, with a good 431 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, sending the power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual, or a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.

Thus, the E92 BMW M3 Sedan is capable of sprinting from 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, at a topping of 270 km/h. However, with the DCT, the BMW M3 is faster, meaning 3.9 seconds for the same 0 to 100 km/h straight line.

Like all of their interior upgrades, this one is just as good and tasteful as you have come to expect.

Again, like many times before, the materials of choice were Nappa leather and alcantara, both high grade materials. These can be found in the re-upholstered seats which were stitched using blue thread for that extra touch. They even went ahead and embroidered the M Division logo in the headrests.

More alancantara can be found throughout the car, as well as several carbon fiber inserts in the dashboard, doors and steering wheel. To keep with the black/blue theme, the seatbelts were also swapped with blue one. All in all, this is a great upgrade for the interior of the E92 BMW M3, a car that is still popular among BMW fans, even if it went out of production a while ago.

But before tuners shift their attention to the new guy on the block, there is still something left for the outgoing model.

While not being the first aftermarket company to pay their respects to the E92 BMW M3, Prodrive did do their best to make it shine. In my honest opinion, I believe that there still was room for improvement, as the build is kind of basic. Being a strictly cosmetic alteration, you get the basic elements you would expect.

Prodrive gave the E92 BMW M3 a new front bumper, new spoiler on the trunk lid, mirror caps and rear diffuser, mostly carbon fiber. Add to that mix a new exhaust system and ADV.1 wheels, and the build is complete. As for performance enhancements, there are none. As I said before, a good effort, but it doesn’t really feel like an appropriate send off.

All in all, this isn’t that much of competition, as apart from decibels, you can’t really establish any rules, and more noise doesn’t always mean better.

Also most of the times, these battles take place with the vehicles stationary, and that isn’t really the way to go if you want to see how nice an engine purrs. Still, for a couple of minutes, you can have a bit of fun with it. Especially if you just completed a nice day at the track.

This is exactly what happened with the owners of these M3s, which decided to show off their exhaust systems after a 2.5 hour race. Between a couple of Dinan exhaust systems and one from AUTOCouture Motoring, they all sound rather nice, but if you want me pick one and say that one is the best, I cannot.

From a first look, not much seems to be out of place with the M3, unless you look at the back, where EAS propped a massive wing to generate downforce. But why generate it, you say? Well, for that answer we would have to pop open the hood and see the goodies installed inside.

Those goodies mostly consist of a very nice ESS VT2-625 supercharger, the device that enables the E92 BMW M3 to churn out 600 Hp. To keep that in check, KW suspensions and StopTech brakes were put in place. Add to that some nice carbon fiber trims and you get the essential BMW tune that offers both some aesthetic improvements and a lot of extra power.

At the exterior, the Germans offer a blue finish with revised bumpers, side skirts and rear diffuser. You will also notice the carbon fiber spoiler lip, front fenders and carbon side mirror caps.

Last but not least, the rear stands out thanks to the boot lip while the widened wheel arches hide the new massive alloy wheels.

Vorsteiner announced no performance upgrades, therefore, we assume that power is offered by the same engine that powers the stock E92 BMW M3.

And if you are going down that road, you might as well grab one from RKP, who do a decent job of it.

If your ride is either an E92 or E93 BMW M3, then you just have to go with their brand new diffuser. And you want to do this for several reasons. First off, the looks alone should warrant one, as it can nicely complete the visual aspect of a tune.

But there are also some performance improvements to be had here. Diffuers usually go on race cars, and their roles is to streamline the airflow under the car and provide even more downforce. While equipping it on an M3 might not make that big of a difference, some people just have to add every little bit. Also, installing new exhaust systems sometimes mandates that you get a diffuser.

I am sure that many dreamed of putting the E92 BMW M3 engine, the loved S65, into their cars, so why not a 1 Series.

To make things run smoothly, along with the 4.0 liter V8 engine also came the 6 speed manual transmission from the E92 BMW M3. I am sure that if the owner would have stopped at that, the BMW 1 Series would have been a very nice project, but once he started, he could not stop.

More mods came in the form of carbon fiber hood, roof and even a trunk lid, in order to reduce overall weight. A custom BPM tune was applied, while Dinan provided an intake. Various other piece also went into the built, like a custom X pipe and a Meisterschaft exhaust system. The end result is a fierce BMW 1 Series, and according to some opinions, another way the 1M could have easily gone.
