The tuning project has a name: ACS1 and comes with a lot of updated body styling and mechanics that makes it extremely powerful.

At the exterior, the model got some slight changes, thanks to the new front spoiler with add-ons, rear roof spoiler or tailpipes at the rear end, the latter one being part of the new complete exhaust system.

Under the hood, the AC Schnitzer BMW ACS1 comes with a new power kit, fully tweaked with updated mechanics, which transforms it in one of the most powerful 1 Series models ever built.

We are looking here at the AC Schnitzer`s new and large intercooler, engine software upgrade, 200 cell motorsport catalysts, wide 76 mm tubes as well as a specially-prepared exhaust system with 2x lambda sensor connections.

In the stock form, the BMW 1 Series 120d packs a modest 180 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, but thanks to the new power kit and mechanics, this model is capable of churning out a good 218 horsepower and 455 Nm of torque.

I am sure that many dreamed of putting the E92 BMW M3 engine, the loved S65, into their cars, so why not a 1 Series.

To make things run smoothly, along with the 4.0 liter V8 engine also came the 6 speed manual transmission from the E92 BMW M3. I am sure that if the owner would have stopped at that, the BMW 1 Series would have been a very nice project, but once he started, he could not stop.

More mods came in the form of carbon fiber hood, roof and even a trunk lid, in order to reduce overall weight. A custom BPM tune was applied, while Dinan provided an intake. Various other piece also went into the built, like a custom X pipe and a Meisterschaft exhaust system. The end result is a fierce BMW 1 Series, and according to some opinions, another way the 1M could have easily gone.

You can actually get this package in two versions, namely the black or the white one. The black variant benefits from a revised front grille, 20-inch Tomason TN-9 alloys shod in 235/30 ZR20 tires, an H&R lowering kit and contrasting red brake calipers.

Next up is the white version which gets the same suspension and brake calipers but is fitted with 20-inch AEZ Antigua Dark alloy wheels and 235/20 ZR20 tires.

The roof, side mirrors and front grille get a matte black wrap as well. In terms of interior improvements, you will find few touches but you can’t rely on the interior upgrades as there aren’t many.

In terms of pricing, KTW Tuning’s package for the BMW 116i starts at €22,999 (black version) and €23,599 (white version).

But there are some tuning projects out there that make even me desire a vehicle like that. And for all the improvements Tuningwerk applied on the M135i, this particular version doesn’t do it for me.

In the standard form, the BMW M135i is able to produce 355 Hp. After installing a new turbo, the in line six cyclinder engine now produces 445 Hp. To keep the power steady, especially on the bends, Tuningwerk also installed a limited slip differential.

Drive stability was also improved by the addition of triple adjustable KW Clubsport suspension system. The brakes were updated to BMW Performance, with some personal touches from Tuningwerk. For those that went with manual transmission, the aftermarket specialist also offers two choices of flywheels. Depending on your needs, you can shave either 2 kg or 4.5 kg off the part.

As for the interior, Tuningwerk didn’t really bother too much, with only new seats from Recaro installed and a rollcage.

Just like UK student Kasia Tabecka, you might be pleasantly surprised by the car maker.

As the winner of BMW’s Car Art contest, Kasia received more than just a prize in cash. Besides the 250 GBP, BMW also decided to drape a 1 Series model in the winner’s creation.

The car maker even went a step further and decided to lend the 1 Series to the winner for a weekend. The only downside is that Kasia won’t be able to enjoy it to the fullest, as she does not have a driver’s license yet. Nonetheless, congratulations are in order for this creative teen and her design.

Now what remains to be seen is how much the car will eventually go for once it hits the market, and if it will be a one-off.

And it’s not about the name, as Dinan’s Stage 3 kit brings quite a sensible increase in power for the BMW N55 engine.

Steve Dinan, founder of the tuning company, sits down and explains just what the upgrade kit is about. Following the N54 unit, the N55 six cylinder engine sports only one turbocharger, instead of two, while still delivering the same levels of power.

Consisting of a ECU upgrade, intercoolers and exhaust, the Dinan Stage 3 is able to take the 3.0 liter 6 cylinder N55 past the 375 Hp point, meaning a 70 Hp gain over the standard unit. The torque output is also increased thanks to this power kit, taking it to 542 Nm.

Currently the N55 engine is quite popular, being used on several different BMW models, like the 1 or 3 Series, so upgrading it can only be good business. More details on the Dinan Stage 3 can be gathered from the short video below.
