On this occasion, two special versions of the M5 top-model have been announced. The first one belongs to BMW factory, and it’s called “Competition Edition”. It takes all the good stuff from the regular M5, adding lots of extra features. Technically, the Bavarian specialists added extra pressure in the turbos, while remapping the ECU. The result is an impressive 600 hp and 700 Nm of torque, good enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Anyway, is the second variant that we’re more interested in. It’s the proposal made by Speedbuster, and it makes the Competition Edition look…well…underpowered?!? And we’re speaking about 600 hp, for God’s sake! The red beast is called BMW M5 LCI, and it boasts 695 hp and 844 Nm of torque! There isn’t any information about the car’s acceleration, but I don’t think there’s a major improvement over the 3.9 seconds of the factory’s special edition. That’s simply because the rear wheel drive reaches its grip limits, and a big improvment is impossible. However, the real benefit is achieved on the highway, where the extra 95 hp feel brutal.

Was it necessary? We don’t know. We know, however, that the 999 Euro cost is fair, if we keep in mind that it includes 2 year warranty for the engine. Even more, for 50 Euro extra, you get the possibility of enabling and disabling the chip tuning, using a smartphone app.

Well, maybe not as many as in Germany, but this isn’t the point. The point is that, no matter what’s the country, this F10 BMW M5, upgraded by Manhart, could be amongst the first 10 most powerful. All the more in Tunisia.

That’s because its V8 powertrain, displacing 4.4 liters, has been upgraded in an strong manner. It forgot about the old 560 hp and 680 Nm of torque, saying hello to new, mind blowing numbers: 740 hp and 860 Nm!

Something must be wrong…where this extra 180 hp and 180 Nm from? According to the german tuner, the MH5 S Biturbo (that’s its new official name) pulls the extra output, mainly from the Manhart improved software. Then, a carbon fiber intake system restricts less the fresh air, while adding a more personalized sound note. Speaking of the sound, a completely new stainless steel exhaust system, including sport-kats, 4 x 90 mm end pipes and valve control, improves both, the sound and the power.

It’s also a new, fully adjustable suspension kit, made by KW and carefully tuned by Manhart, to best fit the engine’s performance. Sending this tremendous power to the ground takes wide, grippy tires. In front – a 265/30 ZR21 pair of wheels keep the car on track, while in the rear, the wider 305/25 ZR21 stick to the asphalt in the fast corners.

Some body panels, like the bonnet, the trunk lid spoiler, the rear diffuser, the front spoiler and the mirror caps were replaced by new, carbon-fiber made ones. The original color proposed by Manhart was Wrapping Grey. However, the owner didn’t consider it as appropriate, replacing it with a new, gutsy shade of blue, combined with black body elements. The owner of this F10 BMW M5 took his ride to the Strasse Wheel tuning company for a set of new wheels, all finished in special gloss black, which complements the exterior Sakhir Orange exterior paint. The wheels are sized 21×9.5 and 21×11 front and rear and provide the M5 with a smashing look and stance.

Apart the one-off wheels, this F10 BMW M5 has also received some new body parts, like the front lip and rear diffuser from carbon fiber, as well as the blacked-out front and side grills from the iND tuner, both making the M5 more aggressive in terms of visuals.

But the real mods are found under the hood, where the F10 BMW M5 has received a remapped ECU, methanol injection, along with the ASR Engineering intake system and the full race exhaust. All these make the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 output a whopping 710 horsepower. No performance figures are yet revealed.

However, this is not the case anymore as G-Power managed to squeeze no less than 740 horses and 975 Nm of torque. In order to get the extra power, the specialists from G-Power opted for a revised electronic engine management system.

Carbon fiber tailpipes and a new titanium exhaust system with racing catalysts were also used for this purpose. As a result, G-Power’s BMW M5 is capable to sprint from 0 to 200 km/h in 10,5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 350 km/h.

This tuning kit is mainly focused on the performance improvements but there are some styling ones too. At the exterior, the German tuner fitted new 21-inch alloy wheels, the G-Power Hurricane RR forged rims with 255/30 (front) and 295/25 (rear) tires, to be more precise.

The sad part about this is that pushing limits is that much harder, with even the slightest improvement possibly costing a lot of money.

But if you want to get away from another car, you might want to invest into such techs. For F10 BMW M5 users, you can get a bit more from a brand new air intake from Dinan. The new piece is built mostly out of carbon fiber, also helping shed a little more weight.

To make sure the cold air intake is properly used, the whole deal is sealed tight. This all sounds all so far, but unfortunately, there is also some bad news. Due to new emission regulation laws, the Dinan carbon fiber air intake for the F10 BMW M5 is banned from California and other similar states.

While still a ways out from being ready, the M5 is already stunning, and not just because of the Yas Marine Blue paint it wears.

First off, since BMW decided to drop the naturally aspired engines and went for turbocharged, smaller units, tuners have had a blast working on Bimmers. The same is the case with this M5, which saw new, bigger turbochargers from AMG, while also sporting AMS downpipes and KW springs.

This is not much, I agree, but as I stated before this is just a base from which they can build various other projects. As for looks, the blue goes well with the black wheels and various carbon fiber trims. IND calls this F10 BMW M5 test mule Blue Deluge, a name that kind of sings. We shall see where they go from here.

For quite some time now, the event has been the perfect place for tuners to showcase their products that suit BMW’s models.

This year’s edition of the Bimmerfest is already over, and now we can look back and see the gems that were brought by the companies. From Vivid Racing, one particular F10 BMW M5 stood out in the crowd. Draped in a Toxic Green paint, you could not help but gawk at it.

And while the first impression was nice, once you get to really see what was done to the car, you learn to appreciate the tuner. As far as body panels go, Angency Power provided a very nice and aggressive hood as well as a rear diffuser. From the same brand, a new downpipe was installed and a carbon fibre cold air intake , while Meisterschaft brought a Valvetronic exhaust system and LXR piping.

New sport springs were installed, courtesy of H&R, and HRE provided new wheels. To bring the project to a close, the ECU received a nice software re-tune. There are other pieces we failed to mention, but we feel you can just enjoy the pictures provided below.

Of all the names I have listed, only Dinan is US based, and as such, he is quite a big thing in the states. But where did it all begin? Like most successful companies, it has to have started with a strong passion. Steve Dinan, founder and boss of Dinan Engineering, shared with us a bit of the story.

Dinan, as an enthusiast, came a long way from working in various shops. Back in 1979, he thought he knows enough to try and make it on him own, an so Dinan Engineering was born, a company with the sole purpose of taking BMW products to the next level. Did they manage that? Only BMW owners that tried their kits can attest to that. What we know is that they are now planning an upgrade for the F10 BMW M5, which will take the car up to 670 Hp and 813 Nm of torque.

The fact that they chose the F10 BMW M5 to apply their craftsmanship can only be a good thing, as the result is quite amazing.

One thing to remember about 3D Design is that they don’t go over the top with flamboyant styling (a trend quite popular with Asian tuners) and instead focus on perfection. And their aero body kit is close to it. Comprised of a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and a boot lid lip, it has pretty much the standard alteration for this kind of project.

For that extra something, they added a home built exhaust system before hoisting the car atop new 20 inch wheels. While they did not fiddle with the engine, the F10 BMW M5 has plenty of power to make this particular fact rather insignificant for the overall result.

It can be so fun that you might want to share the joy with others, but watching from afar doesn’t really portray the situation properly.

Unless you install a high grade aftermarket exhaust system, which will provide a soundtrack worthy of action films and definitely good enough for showing off. Of the many tuners out there, Akrapovic has been know to dabble in such things on occasion so why not install their Evolution Line product on your F10 BMW M5?

Apart from lack of funding, I seriously can’t think of a good enough reason. Not after I’ve seen the video put together by the tuner. And as most exhaust systems out there, it’s not just for show, as it also brings in 10 additional Hp and 17 Nm of torque, while shedding 10 kg of the car’s total weight.
