So here we are with yet another modified F30 BMW 335i, a vehicle which was presented to the guys from European Auto Source (EAS) for some upgrading.

The main upgrade brought to the vehicle consists of the Borla ATAK exhaust system, turning the volume up on this Bimmer. That is, however, not the only part installed, as the guys from EAS also added H&R Sport lowering springs before mounting a set of Forgestar CF5V wheels.

As a general rule, I don’t particularly like purely cosmetic tunes, not unless they are something really special. I can’t really say that this particular F30 BMW 335i is all that special. Still, that doesn’t mean the sound the Borla exhaust produces isn’t awesome. Check it out for yourselves in the video below.

F30 BMW 335i has a 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine with a power of 306hp and a torque of 400Nm. Its maximum acceleration (0-100km/h) is 5.5 seconds and the F30 BMW 335i is the most powerful model in the BMW 3 Series range.

MS Design Tuning made ​​changes to the 335i’s engine and has increased its power to 360hp and the suspension was changed.

Inside, F30 B36 MS Design has some alcantara seats, armrest and other more features.

Also, B36 MS Design has received external changes such as new front bumper, new rear bumper, side skirts and new exhaust system.

The newer version of the 3 Series is a bit larger, much sharper looking and features new standards for refinement and performance.

Prior Design’s new package certainly keeps the refinement levels high. The design fits in perfectly and the craftsmanship is at some seriously good rankings.

What about the all important performance, how does it stack up once the Prior Design package now goes on? Is it still a sharp greyhound or has it started napping on the rug?

As the tuning company claims, the new kit was, erm, refined with aerodynamic principles in mind. That should help with stability and giving the driver confidence to push it.

Material used for this package is a blend of both thos factors. It’s high quality Dura-Flex plastic. The quality makes for refinement and the light weight helps performance.

By how much? It’s genuinely hard to tell but we have to appreciate that both changes will be marginal. It’s not like BMW uses coarse lead to build its bumpers.

Prior Design currently offer both bumpers, side skirts and a small rear wing. They can be purchased individually and summing it all up comes in at under 2000 euros.

The new alloy wheels displayed here are not part of the package (and they’re strikingly similar to some AMG units), they’re used to help the aesthetics of the F30 as much as possible.

With so much to pick from and so many people competing to be different, it’s not wonder to hear about some of them screw up big time on these ideas.

This tends to happen quite often when it comes to styling yet we’ve seen plenty of mistakes for the technical side as well.

We love the technical side as BMW fans, especially when it’s done right and you end up with a pig-like handling machine with the beloved badge.

If you want to get handling done right, there’s just a few names out there that you can call upon. If you don’t like the sound of KW Suspension, you’ll be calling upon H&R Springs.

Their new package is showcased on the F30 335i, the more powerful of the 3 Series current lineup and sports a price of $1.680.

For that kind of money you get an adjustable kit which can range in drop between 1.5 and 2.6 inches for the front and 1.3 to 2.3 for the rear.

With the new bits, H&R Springs decided to go for a new set of brakes, a set of 20 inch O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT wheels and a new set of tires.

All that extra sporty feeling will make great use of the Michelin Super Sport tires that offer so much more grip than the standard setup.

We don’t get to see them release a new car pretty much all of the sudden and enjoy it properly. Oh no, we now have to go through the annoying teasing scene.

Enter a set of spyshots caught of the F30 BMW 3 Series. Yes, I know it has been released for a long time now but this is the Alpina version, the B3.

Judging by the low amount of camouflage on the body of the car, the F30 Alpina B3 probably won’t receive too many styling updates.

As the previous version got us used to, the exterior look will be simply enhanced.

The alloys will also be swapped out for some Alpina specific units and there are a few other traditional details we expect to see happen on the new B3.

We’re almost certain to only see the automatic transmission used in the B3 and we’re also expecting the performance tune-up to be seriously consistent.

There’s no interested party that rates the future output of the N55 3.0 liter turbocharged engine at less than 400 horsepower.

We also know the upcoming F80 M3 won’t have that much more than 400 horsepower so the engine output should be quite similar between the two.

These two cars won’t be rivals by any measure. The Alpina B3 will make performance more accessible whereas the the M3 will make more performance accessible.

So am I and so many people are actually impressed by what the car has to give that the tuning business isn’t really bothering too much with upgrading it in an exaggerated fashion.

In fact, most of the packages we get to see are so light that the alloy wheels are what’s going to be changed and if there is a body kit to consider, it’s usually borrowed.

The one here is the brainchild of K3 Projekt wheels and though the aesthetics have been altered, they’re signed by a different company.

iND is the company behind the front rear bumpers and the side skirts. Covering up the whole thing is a new Estoril Blue paint.

Quite the eye poping shade, and those BC Racing BR type coilovers serve up quite the suspension drop. You couldn’t tell this was an American conceived tune-up, could you?

Going for the full honors, the marketing folk at K3 Projekt Wheels even tell us they’ve fitted a BMS JB4 Stage 1 Tune, whatever that is.

At least the 20 inch alloy wheel setup we get and the Pirelli P-Zero tires are a must for anybody who’s at least a tiny bit serious about keeping the performance factor in the equation.

Those wheels are built in house and look just about stunning without appearing to have any kind of effort, without any explanation needed or any apologies available.

There are good and bad sides to this equation. First of all you can’t really get in touch with them since they seem to have an website made out of alien drawings.

As if that wasn’t enough, they’re named like a German company, which is quite easily going to fall victim to confusion and other such problems.

Regardless of these tiny little niggles that would never stop a true petrolhead from getting the toys he wants, the F30 3 Series is actually pretty impressive.

It’s one of those “greatest hits” version of the F30 BMW 3 Series as it gets a bunch of upgrades from various manufacturers of good sounding names.

The rollers are 20 inch Hamann Anniversary EVO wheels or 20 inch limited edition BBS LM, both in a sharp looking black.

Whichever you chose they will be fitted with a set of lowered H&R springs and they’ll even allow you to have the M Sport package without any fuss.

What isn’t very impressive is the fact that the tuner went for the F30 328i. No tuner should ever pick the entry-level version in my mind.

Due to the pricing of cars in Japan, their upkeep and the fact that this package was designed with cost in mind, it seems that Studie AG have a better understanding of their market.

They probably don’t have the same sort of pointless preconceptions that I do.

Just a week after the sedan entered our world, the estate version is now here to tempt us in its own compromised way. Who says bringing your family along needs to be uncool?

Who says you can’t have a body kit on your estate and, more importantly, who says that estate can’t look really good with its new tweaked aesthetics.

AC Schnitzer will stick to the ACS3 naming of this versino of the car and they will use pretty much the same body kit and alloy wheel options.

The image is quite different but in terms of manufacturing it’s only the side skirts that must have given the German tuner a hard time.

Where we were also expecting some changes is in the interior, particularly the rear seat accommodations but that didn’t happen.

AC Schnitzer tell us they’re going to fit pretty much the same sort of kit and as in the sedan. There’s a lot of aluminium tweaks, better floor mats and the sort of stuff that grown-ups like.

In terms of engines there’s just nothing to set these cars apart. Much like the factory fresh F30 BMW 3 Series Touring, the power is the same.

Headlines see the 318d develop 171 hp, the 320d push 218 hp, whereas the 328i now has 294 hp and the 335i has the title with 360 hp.

Don’t expect the prize to be just given away however, this is not the ASC3 Turbo, these are more popular and more modest tweaks for the F30 3 Series.

In other words, these are the actual AC Schnitzer products you’re likely to see on the road from time to time. Are they the lesser products though?

Obviously, the performance will be less impressive than on the near 300 horsepower 2.0 liter turbo four and the general list of addons is shorter but there’s something more important to consider.

Due to the accessibility and the wide variety of cars the updates can be fitted to, it can offer up customization to more people.

I know tuning is supposed to be about exclusivity but if we’re to liken it to the fashion industry, we have to admit that it’s impossible to wear couture.

So far AC Schintzer offer packages for the 318d and 320d versions, the diesel ones in other to achieve 171 horsepower and 218 respectively.

The petrol engines, including the ASC3, are currently under development and will join the list of AC Schnitzer tuning available products later in the year.

We don’t suspect to see changes between the suspension system of the diesels and the petrols and nor do we expect the body kit to be wildly different.

Which is just as well, most customers will likely want AC Schnitzer’s wheels and ECU tweak first, with the rest of the options later.

What is somewhat surprising is that in this case the very same name stands on the frontage of a dutch car tuner who’s just released something quite appealing.

An F30 BMW 3 Series tune-up is in their future plan. The project is currently called the “Sunset” edition so that means we have no idea what they want to do.

We can make a short list of the changes that were implemented so far and then let our imagination run wild with possible later packages.

The standard roller setup was changed with Baan Velgen opting for a set of 19 inch BBS CH-R, the matte black edition. The tires were naturally changed.

Apart from the new wheelsize, there’s a different footprint in store as well with the wheels pointing for 8.5 at the front and 9.5 at the rears.

Suspension setup also gets a bit of freshening up as the Dutch tuner fitted an Eibach kit, one that comes with the obligatory lowering springs.

Apparently in Holland the roads are not only flat, they’re also speed bump free. However, when it came to changing the body, things went a little downhill.

Baal Velgen Tuning have borrowed some of the carbon fiber aerodynamic parts included in the BMW Performance package. Decent effort from the Dutch but it could have used some performance tweaks as well.

That’s especially considering how the model they’ve chosen for display is a 328i.
