Since then, they’ve been really busy, churning out lots and lots of projects of which we’re unfortunately not that interested given that most of them are not BMW products.

This one is however, and it’s quite the lovable model, the one we all know as the F11 BMW 5 Series Touring. Take care as I’m about to say something unusual for me.

I hope this is a diesel powered version of the F11. I mean, the Touring version of the 5 Series is so practical and sensible it’s almost a shame not to have it in 535d guise.

It literally has everything the average user might want. There’s not many cars out there that can satisfy a whole family’s needs and not feel like a dreary box on wheels.

Before this particular model got to the hands of the German wrap specialist, it was fitted with a new body kit that’s reminiscent of the M package.

A similar note is found within the multi-spoke alloy wheels. We can finally talk about the wrap and the redesigned looks.

The German car maker takes great pride in calling the new appearance Cherry Red, which is difficult to get your head round to.

The option to go for a matte finish really throws the color shade off the game. Thankfully, some brushed metallic bits bring out the highlights of the car.

They’ve already tweaked the F30 BMW 3 Series and its F31 Touring version. Since then, BMW started offering M Sport packages on those models.

Now, just because customers want to have such a package shouldn’t mean AC Schnitzer is excluded from being able to help their tuning efforts, right?

It makes very little sense by most accounts. But since AC Schnitzer is not the sort of company that specializes in running with the pack, they went that extra step further.

On top of the new lower body kit that comes fitted as the M Sport package, they’ve created some addons to help customers stand out as much as possible.

They’ve adapted all of the ACS package to fit onto it. This means you get the same front splitters, the same roof spoiler and the same diffuser at the back.

Alongside these upgrades you get the same sort of wheel style choices AC Schnitzer usually offers alongside the crucial stickers.

Be they placed on the rear doors or on the tailgate as a final badging set, you really must have them installed. Surely that’s the final point, isn’t it?

You don’t opt for such a comprehensive package of minute changes and want everybody to pass it by without knowing what you’re driving, do you?

If you will spec up the badge deletes, that’s awesome, good for you. Otherwise, you’re just forgetting that it’s an estate you are driving.

Just a week after the sedan entered our world, the estate version is now here to tempt us in its own compromised way. Who says bringing your family along needs to be uncool?

Who says you can’t have a body kit on your estate and, more importantly, who says that estate can’t look really good with its new tweaked aesthetics.

AC Schnitzer will stick to the ACS3 naming of this versino of the car and they will use pretty much the same body kit and alloy wheel options.

The image is quite different but in terms of manufacturing it’s only the side skirts that must have given the German tuner a hard time.

Where we were also expecting some changes is in the interior, particularly the rear seat accommodations but that didn’t happen.

AC Schnitzer tell us they’re going to fit pretty much the same sort of kit and as in the sedan. There’s a lot of aluminium tweaks, better floor mats and the sort of stuff that grown-ups like.

In terms of engines there’s just nothing to set these cars apart. Much like the factory fresh F30 BMW 3 Series Touring, the power is the same.

Headlines see the 318d develop 171 hp, the 320d push 218 hp, whereas the 328i now has 294 hp and the 335i has the title with 360 hp.

This is certainly the case with this Senner Tuning E91 BMW 3 Series Touring model. It remained in the shadows because it was never a standard package.

In reality, the product in question was built by request for the owner and there was no fuss made about it in terms of media coverage.

That’s not to say the model isn’t worth a second look. First of all, the car looks like one of the best interpretations of an estate you can get.

In keeping with a practical sense nearby, the owner of this BMW estate didn’t bother with the performance upgrades and focused on the sound and look of the car.

He decided to begin by fitting a set of chunky alloy wheels, sporty tires for extra grip and a new exhaust system for extra noise.

The wheels are five-double spoke designs blending chrome with satin black in an incredibly stylish way though that may have a lot to do with the paint of the body.

That dark blue shade, together with the dark tinted windows make for quite the effect. More importantly, the four pipe exhaust is there to make it feel like an M division product.

Obviously, you don’t get the same performance but if the tune is there, you can enjoy your family car when nobody’s around.

They still have quite the record with the E60 BMW M5 and they don’t seem like they’re about to stop anytime soon.

While they keep cooking up newer, faster and more aggressively tuned models, G-Power don’t want us to forget the estate version of the same M5 Hurricane.

It’s something they designed to give the Edo Competition M5 Touring a run for its money and boy does it get trashed.

Whereas the regular M5 has 500 horsepower, the Edo Competition one has 555 horsepower but the G-Power version has a total of 750 hp.

That’s the sort of thing that makes for some very interesting figures to read. The acceleration and top speed figures are amazing.

At a 0-62 time of less than 4.5 seconds, it takes 9.7 seconds to get to 124 mph and just 26 seconds to 186 mph.

Even though we’re talking about an estate, let’s consider the fact that 186 is not the top speed. Oh no, that’ll be 224 mph.

The interior of the G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane Touring seems to be all that more luxurious, as an estate, rather than a sports car that’s filled with carbon fiber.

That means you can sit inside the luxury and comfort of a nice BMW, with a custom and unique feeling. It’s just that it can hit some ridiculous speeds as well.

Sounds like the perfect car, as long as you don’t consider the price or the fact that fuel economy can’t be mentioned around this beast.

The F11 5 Series Touring is still a fun car to have but you cant’ really be proud of it sitting in a parking lot to the full extent.

So what are you to do with your diesel kiddie shifter? How about you take a look at Kelleners Sport’ catalog and remind everybody that you have one of the best engines on the market under the bonnet.

You can have it restyled to come with a three-part grill, a new front spoiler lip, sporty side skirts and even a rear diffuser.

Most of the guys in management don’t really know what that thing is. They might identify the sport exhaust system with its four round 90 millimetre stainless steel tail pipes but that’s about it.

Regarding the option of a 19 inch wheel set or a 20 inch one, it’ll be tricky to have anybody say anything bad about them.

And boy will the compliments keep coming in when that engine under its bonnet gets a bit of a tune up. So far the most popular models are available.

The F11 BMW 550i Touring will be able to develop 490 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque whereas the 535d version will push out as much as 376 horses and 557 lb-ft.

That’ll certainly be enough to keep up with that smug young manager’s sporty sedan any day.

That’s only partially true. If you’re going to think about it a little, you’ll remember that the new M5 will no longer be available as an estate.

If you want to carry more and still have a wolf in sheep’s clothing, the E61 model is the one you’ll be looking for.

Going further along that line of thought, you’ll find that the you might need to give Edo Competition tuning a phone so that they can bring it a bit up to date.

Taking a second look at the 5.0 liter V10 under the bonnet of the M5 Touring, Edo Competition have made a few modifications.

High-performance catalytic converters, high-flow air filters, a new exhaust system and a revised ECU unit make for a final output of 555 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.

The torque may be less than the new car but with power you’re roughly there. A new set of 20 inch wheels and new Dunlop tires make sure you use all that power well.

The exterior is revised as well as the interior and non of them is restrained any more. Things are obvious, you’re driving an Evo Competition BMW M5 Touring, not a diesel.

Still, the whole package is pretty impressive. That’s almost as impressive as knowing the speed limiter is removed and that you can go as high as 190 mph.
