Without a doubt the BMW M5 is one of the most balanced car models offered by the Bavarian automaker. When you think of the E60/E61 M5 model you don’t necessarily think of upgrading it, as it is already quite a remarkable vehicle and there is not much you can change about it that could make it become an even better version of itself. The folks over at G-Power, however, thought otherwise. They decided to give it their best shot and upgrade such an M5, thus creating the best version of this particular model.

The vehicle’s engine, a 5 liter V10, outputs 500HP in its stock form. This is enough even for the most competitive drivers out there. G-Power decided to further upgrade the engine and allow it to produce an incredible 690HP, that’s about 190HP extra. This upgrade is a perfect fit for the E60/E61 and Touring variants of the M5. While there is no information regarding how fast the car is at this point, the price, 20.000 dollars, is enough to convince anyone of the quality and amount of work put in this particular build. G-Power also offers another upgrade choice for the engine that further raises the engine’s performance, allowing it to produce an unbelievable 987HP.

While the engine of the vehicle has received quite a number of upgrades, the exterior was kept rather simple. With a lower stance and a new set of rims, this M5 seems perfect for those seeking a car that is powerful, yet as stock-looking as possible. This particular vehicle was already beautiful. Not much could have been done to improve its looks, which is why the guys over at G-Power decided to go for a much simpler, classic look. The added rims and the new stance do give the car a more aggressive look.

G-Power has managed again to create a very powerful BMW. The amount of work put into this project was huge. You can tell by looking at the end result. This BMW M5 is a beast kept in the manufacturer’s original form. You could easily be fooled by the looks of this car. It looks stock, but the upgrades under the hood make it only look like that. Without a doubt, no real BMW fan would pass the chance to drive this particular vehicle. For those that own such a car and want to turn it into something unique, G-Power is the way to go.

It seems a little weird to even click on something containing the name TJ Fahrzeugdes but if you’re one of the curious folk, you’ll find out something that is almost legendary.

TJ Fahrzeugdesign E82 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

The car we’re talking about this time is a E82 BMW 1 Series. It starts out in life as a humble compact coupe and it is turned into something simply crazy.

It receives a BMW 1 Series M Coupe conversion. Just about every single visual component that would make such a product stand out goes on.

That’s fun, but is it enough to feel special when you’ve got a 1.6 liter naturally aspirated four cylinder engine to drive around in?

TJ Fahrzeugdesign E82 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

No, which is why TJ Fahrzeugdes decided to do an engine swap. Boy did he pick one, he used the 5.0 liter V10 powerplant from the E60 M5.

With a standard tune, that engine developed 507 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. At this point the ECU was fiddled with and another 43 horsepower was added, just to round things off.

Now that they had the power, they had a lot of work to do in trying to make it usable. The gearbox was also taken from the E60 M5. The driveshaft was shortened.

TJ Fahrzeugdesign E82 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

The suspension was entirely redone by the specialists at KW and the brakes come off the much bigger BMW X6M. Sounds like a fascinating conversion with only one thing nagging me.

Is this still a balanced car or did the enormous engine compromise weight distribution.

As seen on Bimmertoday

E60 BMW M5 by K3 Project

In the case of the Americans at K3 Project, the E60 M5 starter is pretty much one of the finest of the breed. It’s possibly the most visceral one of the lot.

The Florida-based outfit didn’t stray too far from the tree either. They kept things about as simple as BMW’s discrete styling could a while back.

They’ve fiddled about with the way the E60 M5 looks but in the end it’s very easy to spot it as the same car with a few personal touches rather than a toy rocket drawn up by a child in NFS.

E60 BMW M5 by K3 Project

Carbon fiber bits such as a front lip, large air intake trims and corner spoilers make their way in and bring along a diffuser for the back.

The most dramatic change the E60 BMW M5 gets from K3 is a set of 20 inch wheels from a set they call Projekt 1. Somebody isn’t great at spelling it seems.

Anyway, the wheels are stunning but the tires they ride on seem even more impressive as they are 255 sections for the front and 305 at the back.

E60 BMW M5 by K3 Project

That’s a whole lot of rubber, even if you do have more than 500 horsepower to tame coming from a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V10.

Hamann Tuning is one of those tuners that can be trusted but they’re also lunatics. This is because they took a typical BMW 3 Series Coupe and turned into something crazy.

Hamann Thunder BMW 3 Series

The M3 has often been described as civilized in E92 form but the Thunder can’t really be described like that in any review, road test or essay.

Having started with a mid-range 325i Coupe, Hamann whipped the engine out and in its place they’ve fitted another BMW engine from a more capable model.

The only thing is, they didn’t pick an engine from a more powerful 3 Series or even the M3. Instead, they used the 5.0 liter V10 engine from the E60 BMW M5.

Hamann Thunder BMW 3 Series

Now, 507 horsepower would be astonishing in a 3 Series but Hamann decided there’s room for a re-tune and it now develops 560 horsepower and 423 lb-ft of torque.

Naturally, the gearbox had to be replaced as well so the 7 speed SMG unit went in and now the Hamann Thunder can go from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds.

The top speed is limited to 208 mph due to the gear ratios rather than anything else. You do get the feeling that the car could do more, but would you really want to?

Hamann Thunder BMW 3 Series

After they sorted all the mechanics, Hamann Tuning decided to overhaul the exterior of the 3 Series two door and made it look like a more aggressive M3.

Not a bad recipe, right?

The sense making rumors about the F30 BMW M3 getting a twin-turbo V6 engine instead of the current naturally aspirated V8 engine have created a special opportunity.

First of all, it’s a good time to appreciate the E92 M3 in its standard trim with all its naturally aspirated cylinders in shape.

E92 BMW M3

There’s quite a bit of fun to be had in considering the tuned up versions of the BMW M3, particularly this one made by Dinan tuning.

Unlike most interesting versions of the tuned E92 BMW M3 options so far, this one isn’t really easy to predict what’s going on under the bonnet.

Instead of a turbocharger, supercharger, ECU tune or other relatively minute tweaks like that. Dinan actually went on to give the M3 an engine swap.

E92 BMW M3

The new powerplant is borrowed from its big brother, it’s the previous M5’s 5 liter V10 engine. Oh and they haven’t really left it standard.

It was bored out to 5.7 liters and it now develops 628 horsepower. That’s right folks, they’ve managed to put 10% more power than the current BMW M5 in the current BMW M3.

Alongside the added power, Dinan have decided to make sure the E92 BMW M3 can handle it. The chassis will easily take it but there’s still the question of balance.

E92 BMW M3

That intrinsic BMW feeling will most likely be retained as the emphasis on losing weight from the front end and they’re struggling to keep it as close to 50-50 as possible.
