Not long ago, BMW proudly presented the safety car for the 2014 DTM and, surprise, surprise, it’s an M4.
Ok, so maybe this was not that much an original move on their part, especially since the MotoGP safety car is also an M4, but I have to admit that the one used for the DTM manages to distinguish itself quite well.
Just like the BMW M4 used in the MotoGP, the DTM variant sport M Performance parts all around, from the custom front grille and splitter to the rear spoiler and exhaust system. In fact, the only noticeable difference between the two is the color scheme they went for.
While the MotoGP safety car was painted quite heavily, the DTM BMW M4 sport a simpler, yet more aggressive theme. The black, white and grey colors make for a more serious machine. Apart from what is obvious in the pictures provided, the BMW M4 safety car also come equipped with a fire extinguisher, Recaro seats and Schroth harnesses, KW coilovers an plenty other goodies.
