It sounds absolutely mind blowing, with all those crackles and bangs, and it looks as aggressive as any other Akrapovic exhaust. But there aren’t the only benefits of the exhaust system. It’s also lighter than the original system, managing to get rid of 6.1 kilograms, thanks to the lightweight titanium construction.

Another benefit of the new exhaust is the gain of power. Paired with this particular 3 liter turbo engine, it brings an extra 8.8 hp, which may not seem sensational, but in a one-on-one challenge, this is a major advantage. And not only in this situation, but also in the fast curves, taken close to the redline. Those who like the middle range revs, will appreciate the increased torque by 7.1 Nm, thanks to the less restrictive exhaust system.

Add these numbers to the 370 hp and the 465 Nm and you’ll have the image of a very fast car, capable of accelerating as impressive as it sounds. In standard configuration, it does 100 km/h in just 4,3 seconds, but giving the fact that the new system is both lighter and less restrictive, we expect slightly improved values.

This exhaust system is a good choice for the BMW M2 owners, and, thanks to its advantages, it will probably be one of the most popular aftermarket exhaust amongst the M2 owners. And if we look at the Akrapovic heritage, this thing seems like a real winner!

Today, it’s about a loud BMW M2, which became even louder, thanks to the Akrapovic Evolution Line titanium exhaust. It looks mean, it sounds meaner and it collaborates perfectly with the turbocharged V6 engine. What else could you wish for? Lightweight? Oh, it’s light, allright: being made of titanium, it looks hi tech, weigh less than the original and has that specific ”grrrr” sound.

However, as you can see in the film, there’s even more than just the exhaust. It’s also a new, lower KW Clubsport 3-way coilover suspension, which really transforms the M2’s stance. It looks way meaner then in its original form and it probably also drives better, but mainly on the track. On road, the distance between the BBS Flow Forming CI-R 20″ wheels and the fenders is so small, that I have doubts about its stability on bumpy surfaces. However, there are various ways of achieving the right setting for the suspension. Anyone can find the right setup in only few steps.

The engine is in its original form, but that’s ok, because 370 hp and 500 Nm of torque will satisfy almost anyone. On road, that’s a huge amount of power, and you won’t probably need it. In a race, though it’s not so much, but the engine is so easily upgradable, that it’s no problem squeezing 100 hp extra pretty fast and simple.

Why bother with turbo upgrades, modified exhaust, redesigned admission, air filter, etc, etc? Replace the engine! With what? With a more powerful one, made by BMW, of course. Going one step up, the Swiss tuner was captivated by the M3’s powertrain and fitted it under the M2’s hood. Why not an M5 engine? Probably because, physically, it couldn’t be squeezed into the engine bay.

Anyway, let’s concentrate on the final product: what are the numbers? The 431 hp and 550 Nm of the M3’s engine are a good start. Compared with the original 370 hp and 500 Nm of the M2, they should provide enough extra punch.

But the Swiss weren’t satisfied with these values either. They tested it and decided that more power is needed. And they did…well..what the tuners usually do (and they didn’t tell anybody), somehow managing to develop 540 hp and 730 Nm of torque.

With such a power available on such a light body, the dynamic performance is pretty impressive: 0-100 km/h sprint takes 4 seconds, while the top speed exceeds 320 km/h. Looking scary, if you take in consideration the body’s size…

To keep the little car on road, an aerodynamic package includes big openings in the front bumper, with blades to conduct the airflow and a rear diffuser. A new, adjustable suspension replaced the original one, while a bigger brake system, using eight-piston calipers and 400 mm brake discs safely stops the little cannonball. Wheels? Yes, it has. 20 inch in diameter. Each.

…and it would be proper for the world of drifting competitions. Especially in the Japanese drifting championship, one of the most powerful around the globe.

Let’s analyze what makes this BMW M2 CSL rendering look so wild. First, its base, which is the new M2. It’s not a regular 2 series. It’s simply the cream, in terms of exterior line, engine and dynamics.

YasidDESIGN kept its original fascia design, but added extra wideness and length to the front bumper, slightly reminding of DTM style. Under it – a prominent black lip is perfectly integrated to add on-track stability and visual aggessivity. It continues with the complex side skirts, wide enough to match the car’s huge wheels.

The front and rear fenders look amazing by themselves, and manage to keep the original aspect, while being so different. If the car looks familiar to you, there’s a good reason for that. First, because if you like the Vision Gran Turismo game, you know there’s a M235i featuring a body kit, a big wing and a roll cage. Then, because recently, BMW showed two concepts based on the past, but heading to the future: the 3.0 CSL concept, and especially the CSL 3.0 Hommage R.

What would you place under the hood? In my imagination, the naturally aspirated 4 liter, V8 engine from the M4 DTM would be just perfect! It develops 500 bhp and 500 Nm, enough to easily send it to the top 270 km/h.
