And exactly this is what we are going to hear when we play the video of a nice E90 BMW M3 going around the Sonoma raceway.

The soundtrack of the M3 comes from Macht Schnell Bypass Track Pipes using stock mufflers. The engine on the E90 Bimmer has also seen some improvement in the form of a VF620 supercharger. With this setup, the best results would have been on the track, so the Sonoma was a right choice.

In order to capture the experience in the E90 BMW M3, the owner asked EAS to install a special recording gadget. A camera was mounted on the vent beneath the driver’s side headlight, and a microphone was installed near the exhaust. All wires were hidden, and the setup made it easy to capture both video and sound without the need of syncing them later on.

The company is renown for using superchargers to obtain more power from their cars while still maintaining a nice beautiful delivery.

If its smoothness you’re interested in, it has to be a BMW you’re looking at and there’s a good chance at the aging M3 is the likely candidate.

As everybody waits for the F30 to amaze us, there’s a lot of people interested in getting more more and torque out of the E92’s engine.

VF offer a variety of kits but the one they’re announcing today is the VF540 Streetsport package. This is the reasonable price option, the one that provides more power but doesn’t force any major work on the car.

You do get an ECU remap and there’s even some work being done to the throttle but overall we’re looking at a bolt on type of upgrade.

It may be in an unpleasant category but the final result takes the power of the M3 up from 420 horsepower and 295 lb/ft of torque to 540 horsepower and 370 lb/ft of torque.

More than a reasonable gain that obviously come with a loss of some fuel economy levels. At the same time you’re watching that, there’s a loss of $8.295 from your account to get the thing in the first place.

Money well spent, it’s likely given you a car that has more performance in a straight line than the upcoming M3.

This may have just been the case here as the guys at VF Engineering had to partner up with European Auto Service to come up with a new package.

Some considerable rolling of sleeves and a lot of A Team intro music later we got this, a barrel of supercharged goodness.

Though we can’t exactly tell from the rather un-revealing amount of photos at our disposal, EAS tuning may have given a few tweaks to an old body kit from VF Engineering.

The new package is called V540 and is actually a slightly toned down version of the V620 which manages to be considerably more demanding on the car by the end.

Its well known 4.0 liter V8 engine gets a new supercharger which adds between 4.0 and 4.5 psi of boost to the combustion chamber.

This helps the original 420 horsepower become 540 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque. At this point acceleration and top speed go up, with only one sacrifice to be made in the fuel economy department.

Otherwise, the throttle response remains untouched and so does the overall reliability of the powerplant.

Just in case you’re not sure about the overall reliability of the car, there’s a lot of serious engineering going on in order to make the whole package work.

It’s not going to stop anyone from asking about the price, this is an obvious issue since it hasn’t been announced.

That’s not because VF are likely to go bankrupt the same way the Swedish company did but because they have a very loyal followship and because of the great work they do.

In attempting to prove my point we’re going to take a proper look at the Army “spec” BMW M3 they’ve built and which I think is lovely.

Though it’s getting the exterior look of an army vehicle, it’s not armored, not heavy and certainly not ready for off-road trips.

On the brighter side, the BMW M3 they built has a lot of firepower. Thanks to a new supercharger, exhaust, ECU remap and a new manifold, it now produces 620 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.

A remarkable plus to BMW for making such a great engine that it can take this sort of extra power on stock internals without effort.

Don’t worry though, the VF Engineering crew have fitted the 620 horsepower monster with a wide body kit that’s made out of carbon fiber.

Saving weight is part of handling it but the true purpose is making it possible to fit a KW adjustable coilover package.

It doesn’t take up extra space, but it’s welcomed by the newly fitted light alloy wheels and the 11 inch tires at the front and the 13 inch ones at the back.

It could be enough to build upon or it could simply be a flicker that generates one hit wonders. Whatever the future holds for EAS, the present offering is impressive.

It’s an enhanced performance E90 BMW M3 painted in the Estoril Blue shade that makes the Bavarian company’s current M division products look awesome.

The E90 BMW M3 gets a few more tweaks alongside the paint. A new set of kidney and fender grills go on together with a complete Vorsteiner carbon fiber kit.

RPI X-Pipe handle the exhaust system and the wheels are 19 inch 360 Forged Spec 5 alloys. The Estoril blue paint is beautifully highlighted by black accents all around.

Where things get really exciting however is under the hood. The 4.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 gets a VF Engineering supercharger kit with all the piping that includes and the changes are easily noticeable.

It produces 600 horsepower and 466 lb-ft of torque which is a boost of nearly 50% over the standard setup. That’s something you’re clearly going to notice.

As they attempt to keep everything balanced out, EAS offers the newly tuned E90 BMW M3 with a revised braking system from Brembo and new, stickier tires.

You can try and look at problems with this particular version of the M3 but I doubt you’ll find anything other than a thirst for fuel to complain about.
