One of America`s biggest event of the year, the GoldRush Rally, annually gathers hundreds of rich petrol heads for a one-life display of exquisite, rare and custom built sports cars.

This year, the technicians from Protective Film Studios have prepared a special BMW i8 which will be shown-off at the 2016 GoldRush Rally, the model adding a much sportier look and stance.

The entire Vorsteiner body kit consists of the standout “V” logo on the front and side sills, along with a choice of exotic colors, which are also available on the stock i8 plug-in hybrid.

Another standout element is the new set of three-piece forged wheels with a perfectly matching body style paint finish.

Under the hood, there are no modifications added to the car`s hybrid system, the model coming with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol unit, along with the BMW`s eDrive technology, in the shape of an electric drive system.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged develops 231 horsepower, being sent to the rear wheels, while the electric motor adds 131 horsepower to the front wheels. The BMW i8 hybrid also comies with an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers, at a top speed of 120 km/h.

The car will be put for a display and with compete in the GR8EST GoldRush rally, covering distance from Boston to LA and passing by Washington D.C., Charlotte, Nashville, Colorado Springs, and Salt Lake City.
