We are looking here at the ACL2 tuning kit, the model being highlighted in Dusseldorf, Germany at a Cars and Coffee event. The video below is also showcasing the car`s new kit and exhaust system with an impressive soundtrack.

The aero kit consists of wide styling elements, like wide fenders, bespoke front and rear bumpers with add-ons, while at the rear, the model received a massive and standout wing, increasing the car`s aggressive attitude.

As we can depict from the video, the model is also highlighted by the new exhaust system with new pipes, limited slip differential with Drezler diff lock, or ECU remapping, all of these increasing the car`s power under the hood.

The stock 3.0-liter S55 is now coming with 570 horsepower on-board, thanks to the aforementioned new mechanics. We don’t know the performance figures, but it is surely much faster than the stock model. Built for its own private collection, the tuner has also revealed that the customized model now costs an impressive 150,000 euros.

My question for today: is an M235i worth the pricing tag of 150,000 euros? I mean, for that kind of money you could get a Porsche Panamera all tweaked with gigantic power and other fine mechanics!

However, the smaller models get some attention too, something to be expected considering that this little coupe does the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4,6 seconds. That’s thanks to a potent 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo unit offering 320 horses, an engine that has to power a smaller vehicle.

At the exterior, this Alpine White BMW M235i stands out thanks to the VMR V706 wheels finished in a nice Titan Bronze hue.

The multi-spoke wheels measure 19 inches and are the only parts that stand out in this black and white exterior theme. The German car sports new carbon fiber front spoiler lip, a black front grille, tinted windows and black side mirror caps.

VMR Wheels are not at their first package for BMW Models, the F30 335i being also spoiled with a new set of rims earlier this year.

And while I can’t really speak for them, I imagine they weren’t all that impressed, and here’s why.

First off, we have to take into consideration that with the introduction of the BMW 2 and 4 Series, the company has not only just better differentiate they models, while working to reduce the number of underlying platforms, but they also went with the design language in a different direction.

By that reasoning, you would expect the artist to depict the future BMW M2 to take into consideration what the 2 Series looks like, and more importantly, what the BMW M3 and M4 look like now. That doesn’t seem to happen here. More so, if you are too look at the air intakes or the carbon fiber roof, this looks more like a tuning project than a preview of the BMW M2. And if we are to judge the rendering from that perspective, we could be a bit more lenient. It does look like something a lot of people would actually buy in order to tune their car.

The German model received an exterior body kit incuding a new front spoiler, side skirts, new trunk spoiler and rear diffuser. Most of these components are made of lightweight carbon fiber, therefore, you should not worry about any performance alterations.

Interior changes are limited but a revised shift knob is offered by 3D Design.

According to the tuning company, all of the components are made in Japan so you should receive a very good quality kit. The Japanese company released no details about any performance tweaks, therefore, we assume that this is a styling package only.

Versus Performance, while waiting to get their hands on an M2 (like most tuners out there), did a nice build on the M235i.

The resulting build unleashes 408 Hp on the streets, a considerable amount for now. Torque was also improved, now bringing in numbers like 590 Nm. In short, the N55HP engine was properly put to work, and if I were a betting man, I’d bet there is still more power to be drawn from it.

Apart from the engine upgrade, Versus performance also fitted the BMW M235i with a brand new pair of suspensions, courtesy of KW. As for the aesthetic part of the build, the tuner only bothered to install new 19 inch BBS CH-R Motorsport wheels, as well as some carbon fiber trims (front spoiler, rear diffuser, trunk spoiler, mirror caps and exhaust tips). Not that it needed more.

But while the BMW M235i was still the highest you could have gone without aftermarket improvements, Tuningwerk came out and presented their version of the M2.

Thanks to a lot of fiddling, the BMW M235i now develops a respectable 444 Hp and 500 Nm of torque. But exactly what did Tuningwerk do to the Bimmer? Popping the hood will reveal a nice new turbocharger, a complete new cooling system, with radiator, oil cooler and all that good stuff, another heat exchanger, a remapped ECU and a brand new exhaust.

Moving on, we find that the BMW M235i is equipped with a new flywheel for the gear box, Brembo brakes and KW suspensions. The passenger’s hub has new Recaro seats, some stiffening struts and a new steering wheel. The list is not complete by far, but just to make an idea of the build. And to make sure we appreciate the effort, we also have some nice footage of the vehicle.

Now, he has done one more take of a possible Touring BMW, and his target is the 2 Series.

Just like I said with the 4 Series, this rendering is beautifully executed, displaying a very realistic imagination for a 2 Series Touring. But, just like with the 4 Series, it is completely pointless. When BMW is struggling to diversify and specialize its cars, a Touring 2 Series is just bonkers.

He also named the creation BMW 235tii Touring, as a possible tribute to the 2002tii Touring model of old. But the chances that an actual 235tii Touring will see the light of day are quite slim. Maybe just as a custom job on a 2 Series, but that will take a determined owner with some serious cash.
