As BMW enthusiasts go, V8 powered E92 M3s are well and high ranking in terms of favoritism among the crowds. People speak of six cylinders at times but there’s certainly an appreciation for the extra grunt.

Now that we’ve brought this question to attention why not go for a V10? Like the one Dinan or Hamann fit in there, but maybe one that’s a little more interesting.

Custom E92 BMW M3 V10

In this case, the E60 BMW M5s S85 5.0 liter V10 was chosen. Trust me on this, it actually gets better since that engine got a few tweaks.

It got bored or stroked or maybe both and it was now pumped up to 5.8 liters in order to produce “over 610” horsepower from a naturally aspirated engine.

The chassis and suspension have been worked over in order to compensate for the new mass distribution and for the increased width.

Custom E92 BMW M3 V10

Speaking of which, the new widebody kit is a well thought out package which looks great, helps the stance of the car and is made entirely out of carbon fiber.

The alloys, though larger than stock, still provide enough tire thread for a high performance setup. The owner promises great road holding from a car with a top speed of 215 mph.

Really, really hard to find something unpleasant about this car but there’s always time to make fun of the interior. I’m afraid that’s not the case.

Custom E92 BMW M3 V10

It’s not the most desirable color in there but the entire upholstery has been redone to Rolls Royce levels. Damn, could this be the perfect car?

It might, if it were mine, as it is listed for 199.000 things stop looking flawless.

Sometimes the tuning trends do get annoying. While BMW did in fact release the F13 version of the M6 a bit of a while back, it’s still a rare car.

In fact, I’d be willing to bet you have a much higher chance at seeing something like a Ferrari 458 Italia, than one of the new M6 convertibles.

F13 BMW M6 with HRE wheels

Either way, people who are tuning enthusiasts want to make it look as if it’s their own car and that everybody knows it as soon as they have it delivered.

I’m not a big fan of this trend. This is mostly because recently released cars rarely get proper kits made up since tuning companies don’t have the time.

Even if they do have the kit ready in time, it can still often feel like money spent too early to matter for too little an effect.

F13 BMW M6 with HRE wheels

What I do encourage people who buy a new car and want it to feel a bit distinctive is that they opt for a brand new set of wheels.

Alloys almost always improve the look of a car and they come with the added factor of availability. You can get some off the shelves or order ones to be made shortly without too much fuss.

You only have to be away from your car for a few minutes while they’re fitted, instead of hours or maybe even days in the case of extensive kits.

F13 BMW M6 with HRE wheels

Which is what this car is showing off, a set of HRE S107 wheels painted in gloss charcoal.

The guys at Project Kahn are actually infamous for the way they only do some aesthetic tweaks of the SUVs that roam around London’s high street.

Project Kahn BMW X6

With vast experience in Range Rovers and other trendy bruisers, why not have a look at the very public presence of the X6?

Not only did they change the car they’d work on, the British tuner also went about normal business in a different manner. This time they’re showcasing the interior first.

Black, carbon leather and Alcantara seem to overwhelm the interior of the Bavarian beast in remarkably fine quality, the likes of which not even BMW would manage.

Project Kahn BMW X6

The customization work also extends to the dials, as swell as some Kahn specific custom tweaks. Usually, they say they can do anything the buyer wants to the interior and show us what’s outside.

Judging by what we see here, their claims seem legitimate. The exterior on the other hand is very familiar. They’r own enormous alloys are ever present and as striking as ever.

A new body kit is fitted which tends to just about every panel on the car and it is then covered in some special blue paint that’s about as glossy as some of the magazines covering such cars.

Project Kahn BMW X6

Finishing everything off is done with a set of black accents on the radiator grille, the side-view mirrors and the window tints.

With that in mind we should probably be chuffed at the announcement that all future tuners of the F12/F13 BMW M6 will receive an extra option.

They will have the possibility of fitting a custom exhaust system to the Bavarian Grand Tourer, one designed specifically for this car.

Once fitted the car will lose 27.1 lbs while gaining a bit more power and a throatier noise. The noise condition isn’t best for such a car but the power sounds interesting.

F12 BMW M6

The 4.4 liter V8 S63Tu engine gains another 10 horsepower and an extra 12.5 lb-ft. Granted both of these gains are noticed at some pretty considerable rpms, they’re welcome.

Noticing some extra torque at 5200 rpm might be tricky to notice but the 10 extra horses at 5.950 rpm could genuinely help.

There’s another interesting thing to happen with the new custom Akrapovic exhaust system, it will actually be unveiled during the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

F12 BMW M6

The French car show is less than a week away from kicking off and Akrapovic seem to have the plan ready by now. It seems that they will showcase one of these F12 M6 models with their exhaust system alongside some racers.

Most likely mock-ups but still good stuff is going to be there, perhaps a lot more interesting than regular manufacturer’s stands.

User Powerbeast has unveiled his new favorite toy, a seriously modified E90 BMW M3 painted in Dakar Yellow. The modelyear is 2011, the car however is out of this time and world.

iND E90 BMW M3

iND is probably the most easily recognizable name in this creation. There’s quite a bit of the styling department’s work gone into this car.

That said, there’s a lot to consider when it comes to considering the looks of this car. The US resident got himself a euro-spec front bumper to start with.

Some of the visual tweaks do come from iND but then there’s a Challenge carbon fiber front lip and the rear diffuser comes from 3D Design.

iND E90 BMW M3

The entire roof panel was replaced by carbon fiber and even the wheels have lost some weight being replaced by BBS FI units wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Inside the E90 BMW M3, some more weight saving tricks have been employed, particularly in the racing seat department. That said, carbon fiber found its way here as well.

One highlight does stand out from underneath the headlines. The 4.0 liter V8 engine gets an ESS VT2-600 supercharger kit.

iND E90 BMW M3

A Vortech supercharger, all the gubbins needed for it two work, some serious engine work, an Akrapovic exhaust and some serious intercooling work.

The end result is that you get at least 600 horsepower no matter what gas you use. Good think he made everything else better as well as fit that KW Club Sport Suspension and Brembo brake kit.

Despite what is undoubtedly a fact, I’m calling stuff to attention when it comes to this particular F10 BMW M5. While it’s decked out like one, it’s not a patrol car.

Custom F10 BMW M5 Polizei

Unfortunately, it’s not one of Alex Roy’s Police conversion vehicles either. This is a true product of tuning showoff as it will remain a showcar.

There’s no busting robbers going on, this will not be used for catching folks on high speed runs round the Autobahn. What this car is actually going to be used for is unpleasant.

According to BMW, the special Polizei spec F10 M5 will spend the rest of its days as part of the assembly at the Welt Museum in Munich, Germany.

Beyond the special livery, the added signal lights and all that Police fear factor (not that anybody would break the law while driving) there’s something special about this car that isn’t immediately apparent.

It is displayed in the hometown of the company yet it was based off a US spec model since it does come with a manual transmission.

At least the speedometer still reads in km/h rather than the imperialist mph situation. BMW still own the vehicle and while it is on display at the Museum, long term plans are uncertain.

Custom F10 BMW M5 Polizei

Eventually, the car could hit active service or it could tour the world for a couple of motor shows.

E90 BMW 335i tuning

The E90 BMW 335i is quite capable vehicle but it’s nowhere near as impressive as this particular one that 1013MM photography got a hold of.

This particular car was fitted with a dealer installed M Performance cosmetic package and some new lighting tweaks.

At this point there’s a ground effects kit, new bonnet and a quad exhaust system to consider. The headlights aren’t the best choice to my mind, but they’re still acceptable.

E90 BMW 335i tuning

A red exterior is still a matter of taste but the black tinted windows, the black foil roof and the similarly colored details contrast well.

The radiator grille, side view mirrors and two new spoilers are typical tuning tweaks yet they’re quite acceptable on a sleek and angry BMW.

It seems that the most important focus point of the equation is still the SSR alloy wheel kit. The rollers are three piece 19 inch forged construction.

E90 BMW 335i tuning

That may be the case but let’s face it, most of us are going to be noticing the rest of the package first. Either way, it’s one aesthetically pleasing machine.

If the future plan includes some extra toys for the interior this thing would simply be unbeatable.

Though they’re not very keen on slapping body kits on, opting for some stupid vinyl wraps or applying decals, it’s very hard to say no to something custom.

BMW 6 Series Modulare Wheels

Some folk go for the interior, others opt to change the most important bit of a car’s exterior. No you NFS freaks, it’s not the rear spoiler.

It’s actually the wheels that matter most. Hopefully they would be alloys and they will be quite appropriate for the car’s design.

We reckon that in this case the three-piece construction 21 inch the M11C rollers made by Modulare Wheels are more than appropriate.

BMW 6 Series Modulare Wheels

On this occasion it’s not your average BMW 6 Series; it’s the 650i xDrive version. The twin-turbocharged V8 powered four wheel drive GT car sits nicely on the nearly non-existent tires.

Speaking of which almost nobody will remembers there’s a set of tires around the brushed aluminum finish and a chrome lip, while the center cap is also chromed.

There’s something we have to consider here though, when you fit such wheels on a big car and almost no give in the tires, you can pretty much wave goodbye to performance driving.

BMW 6 Series Modulare Wheels

While we’re on the subject of things you have to do without, I wouldn’t promise anything about comfortable riding in such condition.

I suppose that’s the price you have to pay for looking this good. That and the actual thousands of dollars that are the price.

While the body may come from an E30 BMW 3 Series Touring, the engine under the bonnet comes from a considerably more powerful M3.

Custom E30 BMW M3 Touring

And it’s the updated E36 version of the M3, the first such model to showcase the S50B30 3.0 liter straight six under its bonnet.

The new E30 BMW M3 Touring is actually made out of several donor cars, most of which where originally wrecked. The list includes an E30 3 Series Touring, an E30 M3 and the E36 M3 that gave up its engine.

There are plenty of E30 BMW M3 EVO II parts mixed in but there’s quite a few custom tuning bits as well such as carbon fiber and serious mods.

Custom E30 BMW M3 Touring

BBS brakes, AC Schnitzer tweaks for the interior and body kit as well as some factory M3 bits being used in the front and rear suspension.

In other words, this old school family car comes with a special 286 horsepower from its mighty smooth power delivery engine and it can properly handle it.

What I find remarkable is that this one off wasn’t built by some snotty tuning company or some expensive coachbuilder but by a bunch of passionate guys.

Custom E30 BMW M3 Touring

They went on to make the best of everything from three dying cars and produced something quite impressive.

Also worth noting is that the one off E30 BMW M3 Touring was then sold on eBay. The winning bid was just 45.000 USD.

Active Autowerke E92 BMW M3

In what’s a serious effort to mod the E92 BMW M3 very few components have not been outsourced. Don’t worry though, all the new bits sound great.

You can forget the usual made in India/China discount store bit, this is where the real big names in tuning hang out.

The wheels come from Strasse Forged are 20 inch alloys with a titanium rim and are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Nero high performance tires.

Active Autowerke E92 BMW M3

On top of that they’re connected to a Bilstein PSS10 coilover kit while partially hiding the StopTech BBK brake upgrades they got.

With the handling sorted, there’s a revised aerodynamic package in the form of a carbon fiber set of skirts, bumpers, hood and trunk.

Finally, the performance upgrades come in the form of a Active Autowerke supercharger Stage 2 kit and an Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust.

This combination means there’s a final output of 625 horsepower coming from that supercharged 4.0 liter V8 engine.

Active Autowerke E92 BMW M3

In order to showcase the newly found “get out of my way” attitude the exterior of the car was painted in BMW’s Frozen Black paint and receives some mean looking red LED headlights.

Face it, you really want one of these Active Autowerke E92 BMW M3s no matter what.
